World War 2 started almost 65 years ago on September 1st 1939, when Germany invaded Poland without warning. By the evening of September 3rd, Britain and France were at war with Germany and within a week, Australia, New Zealand, Canada and South Africa had also joined the war. World War 2 lasted for 6 years and 60 million people died from this war

the french got involved in world war 2 because Germany was getting far to big.
