Siberian are naturally loving and open dogs. they like to jump and meet new people. I have one that wasn't socialized with people when he was a pup. He is fine with my other dogs and likes to be with them. Its just that he doesn't really like people. How can I correct this? I have been told to take him to a new environment and have him meet new people and have him experience new things but is this the right way?

It is just a Husky instinct to be sweet and loving of humans. However, when I got my first Husky pup, she had evidently been abused and was afraid of everyone. I just spent lots of time with her and after one day she was loving and trusting of me and all other kids. (I was young child at the time so she decided kids were OK)I am female so soon she started liking females too. But her former owner was a male and you couldn't get her within a square mile of one. Really, I don't even remember how it happened, but eventually, with love and care, she learned to trust all and today she isn't wary of anyone. In fact, to this day she is extra affectionate with children. I guess what I'm trying to say is, just love her alot and once she learns to trust you, bring in someone else of the same gender or size in and get her used to them. I think she will eventually learn to trust people. That is just the way a Husky is. The best of luck to you! Tanisha
