The disc machines hit the market in 1913 -- not 1903! Full details may be found in George Frow's book Edison Disc Phonographs.

I think the C-250 came out in around 1915, and was available until the model number changed to C-19 in 1919. They were available in both oak and mahogany. The model number was actually the price of the machine,($250) but cost around $295 by the time the C-19 was introduced. The main difference between the two machines was that the C-250 had 2 draws to store records, and the C-19 had vertical slots. I think the last of the 250s had slots as well though.

I just checked and I was wrong about the dividers! When the C-250 came out in december 1915,it had wooden vertical slats in the record storage compartment. It was then changed to 2 draws around 1918. They converted back to vertical slats by the time the C-19 came out, but used metal edged cardboard slats instead of wood.
Sorry- I should have checked before posting!
