I am using the djpeg (from IJG) to decode images. I would like to compare decoding times with other JPEG decoders. Does anyone know what is the best place to put the timer counters in the program without causing any error? if one is interested in taking the average time of several iterations.

I intend to do some evaluation about JPEG decoder of IJG.Could you please send me some result of evaluation about it under linux system?
for example,the memory,response time for different JPEG files.
