They have unique coats that keep them cool in heat and warm in cold. They, as I'm sure you know, were bred especially for cold weather and therefor are not very suited for a hot climate. I live where the winters get below zero and the summers usually reach in the 90's. My dogs are fine as long as they have shade and cool water. They aren't as energetic though and they seem happier in cool weather. The sum up would be: They can adjust to and endure hot weather though they aren't very suited for it. Good luck in whatever you decide!

All of the Arctic breeds were able to survive in the Arctic not only because they could tolerate cold but because they could tolerate extremely wide swings of temperature in relation to their body temperature. Therefore, they are also better adapted for severely high temperatures. The animal that was selected by living in a temperate climate, one in which the temperature stayed very close to the animal's body temperature throughout the year, is not only going to be very susceptible to cold weather, but also is going to be more susceptible to severely hot weather which is well over the dog's body temperature.  Once again, be sure and give them plenty of shade and cold water in the summertime.
