NO THERE NOT 1 VERY BIG REASON IS THAT THE
AMERICAN BULLDOG HAS NO TERREIER IN ITS BLOOD UNLIKE THE PIT BULL WHICH MAKES THE DOG MORE AGILE IN THE RING.

hi-
no, ab's are not apbt.  while there are some types of ab's that do infact have apbt bloodlines crossed into them, (although noone wants to admit it,) the breeds are distinct and are bred for different purposes.  The American Bulldogs is a wonderful animal if you can find the type that best fits your personality and goals.  Please do some research and find a breeder that is not only reputable but responsible.  I myself prefer apbt hands down.  they can do anything an ab can do but they are half as big and eat less than half as much.

NO, AMERICAN BULLDOGS ARE NOT AMERICAN PIT BULL "AND" TERRIERS. THE BULLDOG IS A PREDECESSOR OF THE PIT BULL "AND" TERRIER WHICH WAS FIRST CROSSED (A BULLDOG AND THE WHITE ENGLISH TERRIER) BY AN IRISHMAN CALLED MR COLBY FOR A MORE PROFICIENT AND AGILE PIT FIGHTING DOG FOR THE SPORT (PROFFESION) OF DOG MATCHEN IN IRELAND.

ABs are not PBs. ABs have a better temperament than PBs. Their structures are also quite different. ABs get bigger than PBs. ABs have a blunter snout & wider skull than PBs. I have had both breeds of dog & now only breed & raise ABs.

Absolutely not!  The real AB comes from a strong heritage and line that dates back hundreds of year in Great Britain.  The AB'sdemeanor and attitude is totally different then that of a American Pit Bull Terrier.  I have owned AB'sand Staffordshire Bull Terrier'sand they are two very different animals.  The AB is much more mild tempered and not unpredictable like the Pit Bull can be.

No the American Bulldog is not a Pit Bull.  Not to sound rude but if the were pit Bulls they would not be called American Bulldogs.  They are a separate breed in many ways. There are also 2 standards for the breed that depends on the muzzle length.  This breed breeds true to a certain degree of type, but you never really now how long or short the muzzle will be. You can kinda of tell but not 100% all the time. The American Bulldog is the closest thing to the original English Bulldog. Some dogs where added in along time ago for function not anything else. John D Johnson also added in English Bulldog in.  For more info do a goggle search on the history of American Bulldogs.
