my car will turn over but not start.  It was going down the highway and just quit. The fuel pump is working.  What else could be the problem?

in modern cars the timing belt is everything to the engine.  If your oil fill port is in the valve cover housing remove the plug and observe the rocker arm, valve lash action, while cranking the engine over.  If the timing belt snapped nothing will move under the valve cover when   cranking.  Replace the belt and reset the timeing on all shafts and problem will be solved.  Good news is most of the modern engines don't pile up the valves on the pistons tops when the belt snaps.  This used to be a very expensive fix when all the valves were bent.

I had a huge problem with a Honda CRX and it would always turn off when i was driving. I replaced everything imaginable, but it turned out i only needed an external coil for the distributor. Fixing this is fairly inexpensive.
