I am no expert. I have had my boston for two years  since he was a puppy. Training may need to come after you establish love and trust. I have found that bostons want to please and are very affectionate. Give your new boston as much attention and love as you would a newborn child and give him\her a chance to give you his\her affection in return. If anything my  boston has trained me. I feel once you have his\her trust everything else will come much easier.

You need to become the leader of the pack,
ALL DOGS feel security when lead..
Be firm but fair , walk the dog on a leash with a choke coller and gently walk and retrain the dog to follow your lead.
It will begin to trust your decisions,
and realize you mean it no harm..
Put you must be acertive and take complete control to show the dog you are the leader
and it needs not make the tough decisions....
Dogs can tell the differnce between the abuser and their alpha figure..

When your dog is bord get off your feet and give your pet a nice work. When you come home give him or her a nice big treat, but only if they did behave themself on that walk. Or Yeh and also give you dog a lot of love and attention.
