Because australia promised britain some soldiers so australia advertised (this is called propaganda)and then eventually sent the soldiers to egypt to train and then off tho gallipoli to fight in the first world war. After all all australians thought they would be ashamed if they didnt support their mother country so after that it became war and australia supported britain in the war and fought in the frontline

world war 2 started in Australia because Japan had taken control of most of the Pacific and the war was comming close to Australian shores so Australia joined the war because the Japanese were becoming a threat close to home.

because Menzies thought that if Britain needed help Australia would be there to help. he also thought (along with the rest of Australia) that if Australia needed defending Britain would send troops to fight off who ever was threatening Australia. Britain never sent troops when Australia needed it most and left Australia asking the US to help

yes...I agree...beongs to Britain (a colony) even though Australia were called Dominions. From 1923 Dominions had the right to make their own foreign policies. This menat they could work out their own relationships with other countries outside of the british empire instead of having the British controlling them.

However, the balfour repot of 1926 said that the Britain and the Domniions were equal but untied under the British monarchy. This became British law under the statute of Westminister in 1931. Canda and Ireland and South Africa took up this independence but Aus did not do so. They saw the British empire as Australia's safeguard and were content to follow Britich foreign policy

The conservative parties held power in the Australian Federal parliament for nearly all of the inner war period.

Australia was scared of invasions so helping MOTHER would build a security.

As a British Commonwealth country with many Australians being of British birth or descendants of, many Australians felt they had an obligation to participate. Also up to around the late 1960's British families were encouraged to immigrate to Australia and New Zealand and could do so for around 10 pounds sterling. Being in the British army at the time I met many Australians, New Zealanders, Canadians and South Africans either in the British services or in units raised in their own countries.

Because Menzies thought it was in Australia's best interests to go to war because Australia felt isolated because the war was going on in our neighboring country's. Also we had to play "buddy buddy" with the US because they were and still are our ally and if we did not help the US during the war we would never receive help from the US if ever we need it.

Menzies wasn't prime minister in ww2, he was later (i think last year of it) John Curtain was the prime minister. Also to the question we where involved because our close ties with Britain and because most people saw it fit to defend it (until Darwin/Singapore happened)
