This a legal question. I am a veteran who had a house foreclosed in 1994, bought with a VA loan. The VA took twelve thousand dollars back from me on a 25K debt owed for the loan guaranty. Ten years is almost up (statute of limitations?) and so the VA is coming after me for the rest of the money. However, my exwife signed the mortgage papers when we bought the house I lost. Will I be able to get the VA to go after my exwife for half of the original debt since she was on the closing papers when we bought the above house? I bought that house with her and then she divorced me.
