My cat is 15 years old. Looks very healthy..eyes are bright...

My cat is 15 years old.  Looks very healthy..eyes are bright and coat is healthy, however she has lost some hearing and is meowing/crying all the time, particulary at nite.  Could she have an infected tooth.  I took her to the Vet and she did not think to look at this which now surprises me since she is the Professional here.  Help
