I have an astronotus ocellatus, shes about 3 yrs. old.Afew months back we put her in a 55 gallon aqu. and we thought she was lonely and we put a smaller ocellatus in with her. Well her stomach got big and we thought she was gonna lay eggs, its been over a month and she still has a large belly. I treated her for a bacterial infection and i tried to give her things to eat cause i thought maybe she might be constipated. I'll tell ya, you can learn alot about any fish there is and I think thats great. Anyway, i just need alittle help with my oscerette, she looks so miserable.                   Thanx a Bunch

Oscars are very territorial, so adding the second Oscar may not have been the best idea. Its possible that your original Oscar is eating not only her food, but the other Oscar'sas well, and as a result she is becoming...chunky. When you feed your Oscars, be sure that each one is getting an equal amount of food proportional to their size.
