What is the industry standard for MTRJ fiber optic connectors regarding alignment pins, With or With out?

3-com switches use connectors without alignment pins.

Normally without, although many sources are offering both male (with pins) and female (without pins) as field-installable connectors and on patchcords.  Standard transceiver receptacles should come with alignment pins, so female (less pins) is the most prevalent choice.
