Yes Hitler did help to achieve a greater economy. He did this by pushing all women and jews out of jobs in order to create ones for German men. Production in factories as up due to the increase in production of firearms. Hitler basically got rid of unemployment in Germany.

Effectively he ended the "depression" in Germany by moving from a capitalist to a socialist economy (yes, I know, Nazism is identified as a "rightwing", anti-socialist movement.  Ironically its effect is to create a socialist, centrally-directed "caretaker" state indistinguishable from socialist goals but not using their methods.)

2.  He indirectly ended the Depression in the United States declaring war on us after Japan attacked.  The Depression was caused by a combination of overproduction in the 1920s and lack of working capital after the 1929 stock market crash and compounded by a number of disasterous attempts by the Roosevelt Administration's to "kickstart" the economy during the 1930s.  When Japan attacked the US FDR issued massive purchase orders for war material to US industry which put people back to work, drafted millions of young men which took them out of the labor force (causing labor shortages and higher wages), and created a massive "export market" for bombs, guns, tanks, ships, etc., for our allies.

Had Germany not declared war we would have been hard-pressed to find an excuse to declare war on them (Japan attacked us, not Germany) and the "beneficial" effects of war-production would have been much smaller and shorter-term.

He increased spending on capital projects to create for jobs and to generate capital. He also developed cheap alternatives to rubber and oil and created cheaper cars, radios etc... which they were also able to export in order to make profit. despite the fact that he was a real nutter, he did do some amazing things to the german economy considering that (before Hitler) after hyper-inflation the British pound was work about a million million German marks.
