Physicians use ultrasonic means to obtain internal visuals of biological material (i.e. humans) since it does not have an extremely high relative frequency. Thus, not totally penetrating human flesh, and allowing reflection and refraction to occur. It also follows that further up the frequency ladder on the e.m.s, waves become more powerful, thus being capable of damaging human tissue.
