The Purpose of the European Union is very interesting. Like in the days of the Holy Roman Empire the EU has established itself in similar ways; Starting out from the common market. The EU is to become a dominating world power that no other nation can defeat. Also similar to the roman empire. The EU is being pressured by the pope to reunite with its Christian roots. The EU'prime destiny is to take world power from north America and its allies and become top dog on the world scene. This you dont have to believe but its going to happen wheter we like it or not.

Gay? Well, I don't really think so. I think that EU is very good thing for Europeans. We have common currency (euro) and we may travel thru the lines without anybody checking our passports. Actually if you have read about your history the idea was from the U.S. minister, Marshall. He's idea was to make Europe as the United States is. EU is kinda same as the US but we have nations instead of having states. Everyone has its own culture and language, own manners. I spent a year in the US and I will never go back to live in that country 'cause it's too corrupted. maybe for a vacation to see my friends but never back to stay for any longer than a month.

The EU is a trade organization the consists of European nations that fit its criteria. It is mostly economicly related at the moment but is making strides to become a political power in the world. Some see it as being the United States of Europe. Only time can tell what will become of this Organization.

The purpose of the European Union is for the member states to work together to achieve those advantages which individually would be out of their reach. These are mostly economic at the moment (e.g. the common market, the single currency), but are now starting to include issues of Justice & Home Affairs, Defense and Foreign Policy.

To reduce trade barriers and increase cooperation among its members. To expand European cooperation from economic and commercial into monetary, security and judicial matters. Establish one currency used by all of its members. Some other points of interest are: Free to move between countries. Keeping the peace. An area of freedom, security and justice. Fewer frontiers, more jobs. Exchange of information (scientific, technological, etc). Caring about the environment. the purpose is evident in the name UNION. a coming together of countries to overcome all types of boundaries which hinder the business world and the economy. There are many for and against arguments for joining the European unit, people tend not to think outside of the box, which has halted this countries progress. People do not like change (even if that change is a repeat of the past) I say lets become the next Roman Empire!

From what I can see, it's a union, one of the largest in the world. It has a single market and a single currancy, the euro. It is made up of 13 countries, most of them in Europe.

one with vision you chat so much crap the EU is all about alliances if we have any trouble with other countries because lets face it none of us are as big or as powerful as russia or america. even the koreans are testing weapons and you dont test things unless you plan to use them. thats why europe have created this union so we all back each other up in case any war kicks off but its also unites europe with trading and business.
