Yes, Babylon was an ancient city that formed the origin of the modern state and the system of brutality that pervades the world today , and causes so much suffering.  Babylon must fall, if we are to be free, if we are to come together in love.  That is what they are sayin'!

yes they do, Babylon is an important Rastafarian term, referring to the white patriarchy that has been oppressing the black race for centuries through economic and physical slavery. Rastafarianism is defiance of Babylon.

yes, in reggae context .... babylon is seen as the political cities and bureaucratic ways of today and a politician would e considered a babylonian.
But in ancient context, Babylon was one of the first major city to rise in the world.  babylon is known as the area between the Tigris and Euphrates river where agriculture and irrigation was first thought up by man.
Babylon is also a palace where ancient gods lived and where humans were slaves for the gods...tjhis existed in the middle east perhaps Sumeria.
babylon is also where the Jewish race was exiled to in Egypt in context of the Bible

In the Rastafari movement and some other religious traditions and philosophies, Babylon refers to an oppressive political or economic power structure. Taken from the Biblical usage of the term in this way, for example Psalm 137, which speaks of "the rivers of Babylon"
