Don't get rid of the dog, unless you know that it's going to be a problem. It would be wise to keep the baby and the dog separate for the first few months. If you spend a lot of time with your baby, the dog might get jealous. Just make sure that your dog knows that you still love him/her. Your baby should be able to crawl before you put your dog with him/her. Don't leave child or dog unsupervised together, unless your absolutely sure that the dog won't hurt the baby. If things are not working out, you may have to sell the dog. Although, if it was me and I really loved the dog, I would just keep them separate. I would wait until the child was old enough to take care of himself/herself. Also, as long as your baby doesn't show any symptoms of allergies and you give your dog a bath ever so often, there wouldn't be any heath hazards that I know of. I hope that helps. Good luck!
