Hi Tim, I had plymouth Voyager that did this. The fuel pump was bad. The next time it dies on you connect a fuel pressure guage to the fuel pressure port. A repair manual will tell you what fuel pressure it should be. I think it is 40 to 60 pounds. Good luck

My 2000 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited also does this. The dealer says they have no idea what it is other than possibly a loose connection. The computer shows nothing because it gets erased every time. Sometimes it takes the Jeep 40 minutes of sitting before it will restart. Mechanic said it isn't the fuel pump. Already had the O2 sensor replaced. That didn't do it. Does anyone have any ideas?
Thanks!!

try the cam sensor.  I had to replace that in my 99 durango after speedometer would drop while driving.

My 99 Durango did the same thing and it turned out to be a faulty main computer.  As soon as that was replaced, I've never had another issue.  That's also the reason the main computer wouldn't see any problem or have a history, because it was shorting out.  Hope this helps!

MY MOM AND DAD HAS A 99 THAT HAD THE SAME PROBLEM, AND THE DEALER FINALLY FOUND OUT THAT IT WAS THE SPEED SENSOR IN THE REAR DIFF. THEY REPLACED IT AND IT WORKS FINE NOW.

Have a 99 Durango that did the exact same thing. It's the computer. Look at the odometer just as it quits. It will say "NO BUS". This means that the communication bus between the dashboard module and the main computer isn't working. The computer won't throw any codes even if you run it and disconnect the plug wires until it stalls. Prepare to part with $1000. I think the computer retails for $600 but the dealership will need 2 hours to prove you right ($99/hr) and they also have to program it for your specific vehicle ($200).
