Is it possible to get a virus by installing DSL because ever since we installed Yahoo DSL, our computer has been grossly infected by viruses.

You need to have a firewall and antivirus software running.  Also a free spyware program will help also like adaware.  The internet is full of viruses and trojans just waiting for an unprotected connection.
