It's ok to apply moderate hydrogen peroxide to cleanse infected area of tattoo.  Apply Bacitracin after the application of peroxide to help heal infections.  Good luck!

Never ever ever put hydrogen peroxide on a tattoo ever! It is not even recommended as wound care by medical personell anymore because of it's possible necrotising capabilities. The idea of hydrogen peroxide is that the bubbles will lift out the foreign objects, like ink, from the wound. Bad idea. See your artist he will no if it's infection or reaction or a dermatologist, an infection will be prescribed antibiotic.
