My Black Labrador has an amount of grey nearly white hairs...

My Black Labrador has an amount of grey nearly white hairs in its tail, the puppy is 10 weeks old, is this normal,one person has stated that this is a sign of a good coat, I have owned other black labs and have had no other color than black in the coat, your opinions please

My dog also has this. But they have gotten whiter near the base of his tail. Check your dog's tongue; if it has black spots on it, he's part Chow-Chow. This is the only thing I can think of, as my dog is Chow-Chow/Bl. Lab. Ret., and has these two features.
