Being pregnant and nursing pups does not interrupt the interval between heats. However not all dogs go into heat every 6 months. This is an average. Some go into heat every 4 or as many as 10 months in extreme cases. When she goes into heat next time count how many months it has been since her last heat and she will stick to that pattern. The same goes for when she is in heat. You can count how many days it is from the first signs of heat to the time she allows breeding and how long she allows it and she will stick to that. If you have more questions or something is not clear you can email me at stanishas@aol.com. Bye! Tanisha
