I was told that 4 bolt Honda wheels will work in place of 1988 VW fox wheels. Can anyone confirm that ?

I have found that while the bolt pattern is the same for a 1989 and earlier Honda, the hub is too small for the VW

The bolt pattern is the same 4X100, as is that of many Toyotas, ford Escorts, and many more.
