How come people always say that Pit Bulls have an extra tooth in the back of their mouth that allows them to lock their jaws? This is not true is it? If it is my dog is missing his. Every dog I have ever had has had teeth in the very back of their mouth. Lab, Boxer, Rott, And Pitt.

NO, pitbulls cannot lock their jaw like that and don't have an 'extra tooth'.  They also aren't any more dangerous than any other dog - that only depends on how they were raised.

Having an extra tooth back there would have nothing to do with it beingable to lock its jaw. That is a muscular effect that has nothing to do with teeth. Whoever told you that is lieing to you

Pit bulls are just like any other dog. They do not have extra teeth, or locking jaws, or smaller brains, or smaller skulls, or extra jaw power. They are physically NO DIFFERENT than any other breed of dog.

Pit Bulls lock their jaws by clinching their jaw muscles tightly, which essentially "locks" them shut, all dogs can do this (ever played tug of war?) but the pit bull has unusual jaw muscles, which are exceptionally large (if you'll notice how round their head is, the roundedness under their ears and the surrounding area is all muscle) There is not a tooth  that locks their jaws.
