Hi..there was at one time.All large notes over one hundred dollars were discontinued in 1946.Those printed up to that time were still allowed to circulate until 1969 were they were then retired from circulation.

There are many thousand-dollar bill types issued by the United States.  The first is an Interest Bearing Note of 1861, and the last is a Federal Reserve Note of 1934.  Before 1861, there were non-circulating thousand-dollar obligations that were more similar to bonds than to currency.

The most common type is the 1934 FRN mentioned above.  Interestingly, the highest price for a piece of U.S. currency was for a thousand-dollar bill: an 1890 Treasury Note, nicknamed the "Grand Watermelon" thanks to the design of the zeroes on the "1000" on the back.  It sold for something like $864,000 a few years back.

If you search on eBay, you can find thousand-dollar bills pretty readily.  Most will be Federal Reserve Notes: the 1934s (and 1934As) are common, the 1928s are found occasionally, and every once in a while a large-size 1918 FRN pops up.  Anything other than those three is an immense rarity.

There are thousand-dollar-bills.  You can only get them privately because the U.S.A. has stopped making them since 1944 or 45 and they are not kept at banks.

I think that Jamaica makes thousand dollar bills in Jamaican dollars.

Yes there is.If you have a thousand dollars in your pocket and your at the bank.You could ask them if you could trade it in and get a thousand dollar bill instead buying it on ebay.And it is cheeper at the bank then ebay.

Actually the 1000 was not the highest denomination circulated. If you look at this page of the BEP website, you'll find that a 10,000 USD note was also once in circulation:

It depends on what country you live in, I only know about these sort of bills in The US and Canada. The US has many of them, Canada use to have one thousand dollar bills but frankly died in 1969, because many gangsters and drug dealers were using them. Canada still has 100 dollar bills though.

Of course there is a thousand dollar bill.
They are just not that that common.A thousand dollar bills are very rare but there definitely is one.I saw a picture of it on the internet.
There also is a hundred dollar bill. I saw them on tv a bunch of times.

hi. i did some research about the subject and found some information on it. i will recite the points i found.

the president featured on the thousand dollar bill is grover Cleveland. the last bill was issued in 1934 but continued to circulate until 1969 when they (and all other high denomination bill over 100)were taken out of circulation and stored away by our very own president Nixon in an attempt to combat against organized crime. the thousand dollar bill, which was used for large intra and inter-government financial transactions and also was a silver certificate, featured on the backside, abstract scrollwork with ornate denomination identifiers. these large bills were issued after the gold standard was repealed.

that is what i have learned about the thousand dollar bill but i strive to find out more, such as who put it into circulation and much more.

There is totally a thousand dollar bill, cause if there wasn't life wouldn't maintain its balance.In other words,the world would come crashing down, well for millionaires that is.oh, and for some of the dumber ones, it means that I would be.......flabbergasted.

there is a 1,2,5,10,20,50,100,1,000,1,000,000,dollar bill. some might be rare but they are still around but are discontinued. I hope you are not listening to those idiots above.

The US Mint has printed $100, $500; $1,000; $5,000; $10,000 and $100,000 bills. The $100,000 bill is very rare and is tightly held by collectors. It depicts a picture of Woodrow Wilson on the front. These notes were printed from December 18, 1934 through January 9, 1935 and were issued by the Treasurer of the United States to Federal Reserve Banks only against an equal amount of gold bullion held by the Treasury Department. The notes were used only for official transactions between Federal Reserve Banks and were not circulated among the general public.

I have a 1000 u.s. dollar bill series 1918
it is a very small bill& was laminated. There is a hidden bear & eagle in the back of the bill. Can you tell me about this bill.??

i have no idea if there is a thousand dollar bill but al my friends keep talking that there is a thouasnd dollar bill. Right now i'm making researches and as levente said there was a big issue with these bills.
