I am 67 and have been running for many years. Four years ago while running I experienced a bad feeling in my chest. This feeling then occured nearly every time I run/jog since then, and now it occurs every time.

It comes on about a minute after I start the run and builds in intensity until the discomfort forces me to walk. It subsides in a minute or so and I can repeat the process.

The feeling is not the same as indigestion but is somewhat similar. It is centered on my chest area, level with the nipples and is about 10" wide and 10" high. Yes, there is a feeling like an external pressure on my chest, although I have never felt any pain down my arms. I don't believe it is heart related but am not sure. About 5 years ago I did a successful heart stress test monitored by a cardiologist and after several minutes reached a heart rate of 175, just 3x my normal rest rate of 58.

If you have an idea of what this is, please email me at ron@cutfill.com. I will also watch this chat board.
