Got an advisory and payment request from NJTurpike Authority telling me I ran a toll booth without paying. Notice included a photo of car and license plate. The car is my wife's. I was driving. There were 2 other adults and an adolescent(granddaughter) in the car. All would swear that all tolls, north and south, were paid on a trip we make half a dozen times per year for 3 decades. Sent NJ Pike $2.85 for the toll insisting I had paid it in the first place and refusing to send a $25.00 'administration fee.' Got another letter. NJ Pike wants that $25.00. I could send it and make the matter simple but want to know if there are examples of camera misfirings at toll booths because I know I paid the toll elsewise I would have a leftover toll ticket and my wife would never let me forget I went through a toll booth without paying. Anyone?
