I have an 11 month old female German Shepherd dog whom I love dearly. She was I think abused as a puppy and was moved from home to home in the first 8 weeks of her life.I rescued her from some friends who had kept her chained outside in the hot sun with just a bowl of water and would feed her some scraps I brought her home and she would not stop biting me  I guess she was teething. I did my best to train her and she has improved remarkably . She can get very mischievous and jumps at people. Only when she sees me her behavior is very hyper..The rest of the time with all my servants and the guard who has literally brought her up she's fine but when I'I'm there  she thinks OK now I'I'm free to do anything i want, so she barks and jumps up at people I have scolded and talked to her lovingly given her treats when she has obeyed but even now when she does not get her own way she bites me really hard. Please would you tell me how to train her.I live in Karachi Pakistan and most of my family would love to be friends with her but they are scared she will bite them . her way of showing love is to bite us though she is 98 percent better then she was last year.
I would love her to be calm and complacent will you teach me how to do that? and also teach me how to stop her biting me I would be so grateful
Can you help . Thank you so very much

Thank you

From 6 months to a year and a half, German Shepherds go through a puppy stage.  You should spend at least 2 hours per day with your wonderful dog.  Mischef comes with the territory.  My dog used to bite me some - so I put my hands in her mouth and let her know it hurt me by hurting her so she would get the idea - she did, and that stopped it.

I have a Black German shephard and he went through the same thing but what I did I let him know who is the boss when she tries to bite you grab her mouth and close it with both hands get close to her mouth and tell her no biting and then give her a treat! it will work and for jumping when she jumps grab her leg and pull slowly and walk backward for 30 seconds to a minute do it every time she jumps up on anyone. If you have other questions feel free to email me at sevenandeye@yahoo.com

I think that the german shepherds are very friendly and it is some times in their behaviour that they tease others by biting them, so in order to stop them from that behaviour you can roleup a news paper and when she does that you just hit her on her nose with that.If you have anymore problems you can take my cell phone number  0300-887-0770

I had the same problem with my female german shepherd biting me when i come home.  She gets excited and bites me.  She does not bite my wife or anyone else.  She only bites me with her front teeth, not her sharp ones.  I bought a radio shock collar, and when she bites, I shock her on the lowest level.  She has learn not to bite my skin because she knows it hurts me.  She only bites my clothing, once in a while.  I think they will grow out of it.  She is only a year old, and was never abused.
