Try KMR - it is powdered formula similar to human baby formula, but it is made specifically for cats (and ferrets and rabbits). I work at a vet's office and am currently fostering 2 one week old kittens. I feed them every 3 hours a mixture of KMR and Nutri-Cal and when that is done I give them each .3 cc'sof dextrose. (You can get all this through your vet). Also, and this is VERY IMPORTANT!!!! If they are very young, you have to stimulate them to use the bathroom. Take a tissue and wipe their 'private area' gently but repeatedly and they will begin to urinate. Once they get some food in their system you will also have to stimulate them to poop. Disgusting, but necessary. If they don't relieve themselves, all the stuff will back up in their system. Very bad!

Baby kittens should remain with their mother cat till around 8 weeks old. They get the mother's antibodies in the mother's milk that can help them fight diseases..you can feed with a pet nursing bottle..NEVEr use COLD milk..it gives then cramps and diarrhea..evaporated milk is better (luke warm, not HOt; test with finger). There are several formulas on the market and at the pet stores if you cannot afford a vet, but its always best to consult with a vet. Baby kittens need alot of attention and must be stimulated to go to the bathroom ..their butts should be wiped with a washcloth (gently) so they can have a bowel movement as someone else on here mentioned.. good luck..and feed often when hungry..also, an alarm clock can sound like the mom's heart beat and help soothe them.

I found two newly born kittens who some unscrupulous owners threw in the trash center of our condominium. I tucked them in for two weeks. One passed away after two weeks and the the other after another day. The first kitty, Jasmine, died after heavy rain. Life is difficult and unfair. I work from 8-5pm. I had to leave her dying hoping she would live but when I got back from work, she was still. Her surviving sister afraid underneath the carcass. I washed the surviving kitten and tucked her in morning. I had this professor who exuded the personality of late submission, no grade. I had to leave th surviving kitten crying to beat my deadline. I bought some friskies hoping she would be able to eat at 4 weeks old. In the PHilippines, transportation is difficult and it took me an hour and a half to finish my shopping for good catfood just about kilometer from our school. I returned and she was lying still. She has passed away too... I could still hear their meows after burial ... Please, when you say it's bad... don't say its bad. Be specific. Say they will die, they will perish, they will pass away. I know you are just trying to be diplomatic as possible but being frank sometimes brings better results. I should have thought leaving keeping them outdoor was not bad... it will make the kittens die. I shouldnt have thought not massaging their private parts being two week-old kittens were bad. My kittens will die if I don't stimulate their private parts to defecate and urinate. I should have thought my kittens would die if I don't get them the right milk (err... formula). Now their gone ... Lessons from a sorrowful experience: Baby kittens are incapable of regulating their body warmth. keep them with their mother or litters. The human hand is incapable. Take them away from the litter atleast and she will die. Human milk or dog food is not a legitimate subsititute for mother's milk. It is not enough to sustain them. They will die ... Never ever leave them outside. They will die... Make sure they defecate at least once a day and urinate by massaging their private parts with a wet cotton bud. If you don't, they will die ...

use this: baby kitten formula 4 oz. evaporated milk 4 oz. water 2 egg yolks 1 teaspoon corn syrup (or substitute pancake syrup) 1 capsule cod liver oil *REFRIGERATE any unused formula and make fresh formula if all not used within 48 hours. FEEDING: Warm formula but make sure it�s not too hot ! Use a plastic feeding tube � a 3 cc size is best but you can use a 1 cc size and you can obtain a tube from a vet or pharmacy. Orphan kittens need to be fed every 2 � 3 hours until they are 4 weeks old. At 4 weeks old, you can introduce some canned cat food mixed with the baby kitten formula but supplement with the feeding tube until all kittens are fully able to eat enough on their own. They should be weighed on a kitchen scale each day and their weight recorded in order to make sure they are gaining. Consult a veterinarian if the kittens fail to gain weight, have diarrhea, continually vomit or sneeze. i wish u all luck and hope the kittens are o.k!! ^_^
