What does the effect bury mean? Does it mean to destroy or something else?

Over the years, wizards of the coast has adopted different terminology to describe certain game events. When they make changes to the way they word things, it is inevitable that you will run across older cards with the old wording on them.

The word bury is not used anymore in magic, instead replace the word bury with "destroy without the possibility of regeneration".

Look at an older version of wrath of god, and it will say "Bury all creatures." New versions of wrath of god say "Destroy all creatures, they can not be regenerated"
