I want some thoughts on what other people think about the CKC because I have always had UKC and ADBA registered pits.  Now I have a several CkC registered pits  and a new litter of ten pups and I do know the CKC promotes pit related activities but people have such devided opinions on this registery I wonder if I will have a hard time selling these pups they are great dogs but the registery might stop people from buying them.  Any Opinions or advice will be appreciated

What does CKC stand for (the initials I mean)?  If it promotes gameness thats good!!! Also ADBA and UKC (if I remember correctly) will except most other dog clubs pedigree for registration so its probably not a big deal.

I raise CKC registered Dachshunds and Border Collies. CKC's"bad rap" is slowly going by the way side. The problem stemed from certian other registries trying to "muddy up the waters". So far I have not felt effected by having CKC dogs. If anything, people feel more relieved knowing they are registered.

I contacted CKC direct about the rumors I heard. They basicly told me that they wern't worried about it; as the only people that were spreading the rumors where so closed minded that their minds couldnt be changed anyway. I know for a fact that AKC and UKC once had the same "bad rap" too. However, they had enough clout to "buy" the problem off. CKC is not having to buy anyone off. They are just letting their friendly attitude speak for itself.

The ADBA doesn't recognize CKC, and I personally don't recognize AKC, UKC, CKC, or anything but ADBA.  If they eventually go the same way as the AKC and UKC and turn their backs on pit bulls then I will find something else; but for now the ADBA seems to represent my interests better.

I have found through the years that the C.K.C.is no longer interested in maintaining their good name by having reputable breeders in their club.  I know there are many breeders reported to the C.K.C. for improper practices such as selling, breeding and buying unregistered dogs and they do not even want to look into the matter.  These are big name breeders that show and win and if they can't sell registered their dogs the sell unregstered privately or through pet stores

CKC stands for Canadian Kennel Club & Continental kennel club. The Canadian Kennel Club is a more reputable kennel club than the Continental. The Continental Kennel club lets people register mutts as long as you send in your money. Trust me, I registerd a cocker-lab mix. The Canadian Kennel Club will NEVER let mutts be intitled to registrey as they are not purebred. The Canadian Kennel Club promotes responsible breeding practices as does the FCI while the Continental registers anything. Continental does not have dog shows like other kennel clubs. Personally, NEVER buy a puppy that is JUST Contintal reg, buy 1 that is AKC or FCI.

CKC (Continental Kennel Club) NKC ( National Kennel Club) ADBA ( American Dog Breeders Association) UKC (United Kennel Club) AKC (American Kennel Club) ADBA and UKC will only accept a dog for registration if you can prove a three generation pedigree. I have 2 Pits ADBA, CKC and NKC registered, and 2 Pits CKC and NKC registered. Puppies are 10 days old and are from an ADBA female and a CKC male. They cannot be reg. ADBA because the sire is of original stock. No pedigree on him. They are CKC and NKC registered.
