A hight level requirement of what i am looking for, We have a web based application which communicates with a legacy system (on unix)using scraping softwares, The scraping softwares is not performing upto its mark and we are looking at options to communicate between the legacy system and the web based application. We are thinking about writing a unix program which calls a program written in Legacy system (primarly basic).
The web program transforms the data using XML and creates a XML object in java, which should be passed to the Unix Server, Is there a way we can communicate between the Windows NT server, There are things we are looking at such as named pipes and socket programming. Can XML be used to communicate over TCP/IP, has anyone used it and whats the feasability for such an architecture.

Thanks for your Help in Advance

Nimzs
