Subject: Citizenship question

I got my green card on March 2000. I
satisfy the physical presence requirement to apply for naturalization. I'll be leaving to abroad to work for a U.S. Company. I'm planning to apply for N-470 to preserve the residence and apply for citizenship by March 2005. Do I need to stay in U.S physically for three months just before applying for citizenship? Also, what would be the better option so that I can plan properly to get the citizenship?
