Hearing, Special needs, alot of times, you wire for Sight, blinking lights, different color for different meanings,if someone is at your door. Auto lights, by using devices from electron shack or hiring a electrician, to  build motor control devices. That can use in lighting up conditions or vibration, devices. You need a plan not to confuse your client. Take time to map out your clients needs, including alarms, smoke dectors, phones-tty devices must be considered. If something is left turn on at the stove, can be wired for heat devices limit switches, thermal switches , can be use for reminding. Create a system for your client, then keep a visable copy of it where they can see it on a day to day routine . If you have other questions, check with electrician that has motor control skills, I'm a Certified Electrican/Inspector. 24 + of experience.also
check with the local codes, and organization, which may be helpful too.  mmm good luck, it takes time. and understanding for our special needs.
