Why won't my 1985 Jetta (gas) start when the outside air temperature is above 90 degrees?  It runs for a second and then cuts off.

IT IS A COMMON PROBLEM WITH JETRONIC *MECHANNICAL* INJECTION (OR "CONTINUAL INJECTION SYSTEM"). SOMEHOW , THE MIX IS VERY LEAN , IF THE TEMPERATURE OUTSIDE IS HOT , AND THE ENGINE HAS BEEN RUNNING FOR A WHILE AND LET TO REST FOR -SAY- 1-2 HOURS. DURING STARTING CRANKING , THERE#S A SPECIAL SOLENOID WHICH PUTS EXTRA FUEL (ONLY WHEN STARTER ENGINE IS CRANKING)  -HENCE THE "BRIEF" ENGINE RUNNING  .
GO TO ANY PORSCHE 924 WEB /GROUP (THEY HAVE THE SAME ENGINE , AND MUCH , MUCH WORSE ENGINE OVERHEATING) AND LOOK FOR REMEDIES ON "HOT START STARTING" . THERE'S EVEN A FIXING KIT , IN WHICH YOU CAN "ACTIVATE" A HOT START SOLENOID FROM YOUR DASH . ITS ABOUT 45 US$
Any doubts , pls mail me Francisco_javier_carrion@hotmail.com
