I'm a left-handed guitarist who started out playing right handed.  I play pretty well, though my rhythm suffers somewhat for using the off-hand for picking.

Changing in the middle of learning is probably possible--I have learned to play left-handed a little, just because I can't do a tremolo with my right hand, and it's been tremendously difficult.  I wonder why it'd be desirable to change to playing off-handed, though.

Hello i am a clasical guitar student in the conservatory of music in Puerto Rico. I belive a left handed guitarst should pluck the strings with the with the left hand. In the long run the plucking hand will be your most important hand. It is the one that creats sound. In the long run it will be the more complicated hand as the plucking hand parterns will have many more options than the hand that is securing the notes. If you are a beging student I belive you should consider making your strong hand your plucking hand as it will benifit you greatly in the long run.

are you trying to imitate kurt cobain? Although imitation is the highest form of flattery the real kurt would have most likely been insulted by something like that...but yes you can switch but it is very difficult. One of my friends had to because he was left handed but, played right handed and had trouble picking properly. if you right handed it will probably be twice as hard.
