My son is taking the maximum dose of Effexor.  This stopped his anxiety/panic disorder however he now seems disconnected emotionally, has an ability to stick to anything and just doesn't seem to be "all there".  Things and people that should matter just don't seem to.  Since starting taking the drug, he has lost his job, lost his wife, is in financial dire straights and yet does not seem to be responding with any drive or conviction to find another job, work on his relationships, etc.  Please help, I am frightened for him.
