I have a Hewlett Packard cd-writer plus 8200i/e.  When I put in a new disc(AT&T ix48Xcompatable) the writer's light keeps flashing and the disc won't load and be recognized.
On rare occasions it will load but when burning I get the error 'can't write end'.
However the writer recognizes previously burned discs.  Yet it doesn't recognize Manufacturers' discs[including the disc to format and restore my hard drive].
I'm desperate.  Any help would be welcome.

p.s.-it's firmware v1.04
