I have a netgear DG824M router and have configured it to allow inbound FTP connections to be switched to my Network Attached Storage Device (which runs an NT File Server). The log shows that inbound packets are being passed on but the remote client gets a disconnect error or timeout.
Attempting the same connection on the local network (i.e. directly to the server module) works fine. Can anyone suggest why this isn't working?

I had a similar problem and discovered it was because I had changed a password in the browser that came with my ISP and was coded into my router.
