testing the software is called software testing.
there are lot of courses in STC.
software testing by STC.
STC(soon to be opened now only at chennai)

Spending many thousands to Academic trainees is waste i feel..Some institutes like Prime computers Anna nagar-Roundana , Silicon valley-thiruvanmiyur have team of People from industry at evening times to Share their real time exp.So Professional and worth

"Software Testing is the process of executing the software system to determine whether it matches its specifications and executes in its intended environment. It is the process of testing the functionality and correctness of software by executing it."
In my point of view I don't think any institution or university will give u the right platform but if u go in a systematical way and starting from SDLC(Software Development Life Cycle)-like WaterFall Model, V Model and others and study the RUP Concept in dealth then u can have the baseline for the testing and then u can follow any standard books like book written by Taurus or by Cam Kenar and u can also explore the web. Its all depend upon your logic and thinking that makes success in this field rather than any course. But still if u want to go for the test, then some institute like WebTek in Delhi provides u the classes for software testing....

Testing is a technique to inhance your quality of product which you are making.Testing was a phase at earlier days but now testing starts from the phase that is requirment phase and goes till the maintance phase.

SQTL sucks. It is so expensive + the labs are so small and when there are more than 5 people inside, it smells.. body smell etc.

s/w testing is all about to do destruction in order to get construtive product.s/w testars carries lots of resposiblities as they are the ppl who pass the product for release and in my opinion it has a huge market in upcoming years.i found seed infotech pune is good institute from where u can get train in this field.

Testing is to find bugs in an application and to see the application works as per the customer requirements.

To learn about testing refer to Ron Parton testing book.

Software testing is to test a software.....
By testing a software either by manual testing or by automated testing a tester should not only find the error in that particular application but should also know the quality of that software application....because finally the customer or the client should be satisfied.
So by doing the software testing we come to know whether the application will fulfill the customers need or not.

This testing we are calling as a white box testing .  as u told that you are intresting in testing profession for that you may go for testing certification program too
