my puppy has been in heat for about two weeks, for the last couple of days she has been somewhat depressed. are the two related and what can i do to help her

She is in full heat at this point in time. The past two weeks she has just been going into heat. When dogs are in full heat they often are often depressed if they can't breed. However if she is under two years of age for her safety don't breed her. Her body isn't quite mature enough to handle pups. I would suggest getting her sprayed if you don't necessarily want her bred or her heats will become a nightmare for you and her. Breeding, pregnancy, whelping, etc all have so many pros and cons like timing, signs or them, health, etc. Don't just jump into breeding but know as much as you can beforehand. Please understand that doing so is in the best interest of your dog. Irresponsibility on the owners part can cause the death of a pup or the mom. Good luck to you in either case! Tanisha

my 8 month old female pitbull is spotting and is swollen. Is this normal?
