i have confederate rose cuttings in water .. and some i put...

i have confederate rose cuttings in water .. and some i put in clay pots.
now after only a fews days .. the clay pots have a snow white parasite or something growing around the edges of the pot.what is this and will it kill my plants?

This is just a salt build-up. It will not hurt your plants too much. I would try to water with distilled water for a little bit to try and leach out a little of the salt. Try not to use fertilizer with a lot of sodium in it.
