What food items can I eat to off set the dawn phenomenon effects?  I wake up between 3-5 am each morning and would like to eat foods before going to bed that may help me have a full night of rest without having to wake up and eat.

What is the dawn phenomenon effect? If it is low blood sugar or insulin reaction the best way to prevent or limit these problems is to eat cooked organic small red chili beans immediately before getting into bed. The high fiber content of the beans remains in your the digestive tract through out the night and prevents drastic reductions in your blood sugar.

Somehow, this information has been completely missed by the diabetic community.
