I am replacing a cook top and the old one used a 220 wiring with 3 wires plus a ground.
The new one only requires a 2 wire plus ground and the instructions say not to use 3 wire. Do I need a new breaker and wiring or can I use the one I have?

well,if i read this right, all you need is just the 220 circuit without a neutral.in that case, i would have to think all you need to do is cap off the white wire, but, make sure you use the grounding or bare wire.
