How do you stop an AWS from biting.  Our AWS started biting at 12 weeks old and obedience class is not helping to stop the biting.  He is now 5 months old.  He plays agressively and bites. These bites do break the skin.  The biting happens when he plays or after petting him for a few minutes.  This dog is very smart and I don't know how to out smart him to stop biting.  Will he grow out of this biting and if not can someone please give us professional advice.  We have been researching this for quite some time and have tried many options but nothing seems to work.

It sounds like he is just a really playful pup with bad manners. But you are right to be concerned because as an adult it can be a whole different problem. He may then as an adult view himself as dominant over you which is not a good thing. I would immediately stop petting/playing with him when he starts biting and give a loud verbal NO! Then walk away from him and refuse to give him any attention. He needs to stop being rewarded with attention and playtime when he shows this bad behavior. Keep in mind some amount of play biting is normal puppy play. Have you consulted a dog behavior specialist?
