On the 19th Feb 04 we witnessed hundres of birds in the sky forming a perfect solid circle, at first it looked like a ufo. They were like starlings or blackbirds. It was the most amazing site we had ever seen. We watched for fifteen minutes. They would each fly round so it looked like dots in the sky(still in a circle) and then it would look like a black circle. At one stage they they flew to the trees near us. Because there where at least a thousand birds diving as fast as anything most of them fell through the trees and the rest would fly back into the sky. Then again they would form this solid circle as if they were putting a display on for us! Does anybody know why they would do this? Mac- Scottish Borders
