1840 republic of Texas twenty dollars it is hand numbered #1575 and hand signed by sect and president of the time  i read (somewhere)they tried to collect and book the numbered notes    help, is it still good? it says receivable for all government dues

Hi..looks like the serial number indicates that it is a replica and not a real note.For this note to be real first they are not printed in a parchment type paper like a lot of fake notes are.Also the signatures were usually in brown ink and hand pen signed and never printed like bogus notes are.You can send me a scan if you want but most probably you have a replica.Email me at marlofan@aol.com.

I have a note from the Republic of Texas also and on one side its black and the other side its green text, is it a replica too?
