My mother is a diabetic and she has numbness in her feet and hands. It has something to do with the nerves, but that's all I know.

Yes, many diabetics feel numbness in their
feet and hands.  High levels of blood glucose
cause damage to nerve endings.  See the
diabetis FAQ.  The solution is to seek better
control of blood glucose levels.

Yes, feeling numbness in the hands and feet is common in diabetics. I'm not sure why this is, so if you wish to know, then ask a doctor.
