A preganancy lasts about 2 months.

They are pregnant for 58-66 days which would be equal to 9 weeks or 2 1/4 months. This goes for all dogs not just chihuahuas.

What are signs of a pregnancy in my chihuahua, she is 7 months old and getting fatter around her rib cage and her breast area is swollen she has just come out of heat, also. Please help.

My chihuahua is in heat. She is 7 months old. If she got pregnat..Would she more than likely die? Just wondering!

a chihuahua's pregnancy, like most dogs and cats, usually carry a litter anywhere around two months. But that isnt always exact... could be just before or after two months. But in the same close rage of 2mo. Plus remember look for greenish-black liquid discharge.... dead puppie, get her to the vet

63 days is normal gestation for all breeds of dogs.

hi i have a chihuahua dog and she is pregnant today she started her puppies but she had one at 7:00pm and it was born dead and it's been than 5 hours and she still hasn'thad her other puppies is this normal this is her first time having puppies.

hmmm.... 7 months???.... that's bad, consult a vet. ur chi is too young and under developed to undergo a pregnancy. chi's should be bred at about 2 yrs of age. 7 months is WAY to early. this could cause problems and complications not only for the pups but for the momma. consult a vet, that would be the best advice i can give you. and if she is pregnant u will probably have to face a c-section (which is $$$$) or a termination, this situation is going to very unsafe for ur chi, u should have been more careful!!!

Everbody said it takes 63 days; but my dog just went into surgery; she was 68 days pregnan, and no signs of deliver, so the vet give her oxcitocin (2 shots) and once again nothing happen, so she had a c-section surgery, she has 4 beautiful puppies, but it was really expensive, Do you think I did the right thing or should wait one more day, to see what happen

Was she around any intact males during her heat? If not, she may have what is called a false pregnancy where her body goes through the gestation period without the resulting puppies.

Our pomeranians get really bloated -just like a woman gets sometimes, it's waterweight...and can be quite uncomfortable. I causes the signs you are observing.

Have her spayed! Spaying her will greatly reduce her risk of mammary cancer, which increases with each heat cycle she goes through, as well as erradicate the risk of ovarian and uterine cancer, and other life-threatening conditions like pyometria. If you love her, you will want to do all you can to protect her health--so have her spayed, please!

Swollen breasts, long nipples, later in the pregnancy she will excrete milk. Also, mood changes, morning sickness, etc. It is much like a human pregnancy, except much shorter. The best way to tell is to take her to the vet for blood work and an x-ray.

My chuhuahua female dog just had puppies. She keep bring one puppie so I can take care of it. The puppie look very skinning and it alway on it back. It's still alive and she keep pull it a way form her.

We have a chihuahua who was mated in October. We thought she was pregnant, but it has been longer than 9weeks and no puppies. Her bottom 2 breast have been swelling up. Could this be a false pregnancy? Do Chihauahua's usally get pregnant on the 1st try? Marlena

If your dog is pregnant she will drink more water, throw up a little, and eat less. Her breast area will be swollen too.

lots f signs, the reactive tissue around her breasts will be swollen, and her vagina will also look a little bit bigger than before she was pregnant- you should also take her to be looked at by the vet, after 30 - 45 they can tell you for sure, but by then you should be able to tell for yourself-LOL

IS IT SAFE TO BREED MY 9MO. OLD CHI SHE IS NOW GOING INTO 5 DAY OF HEAT MY VET SAID THIS WOULD LAST ABOUT 3 WKS WITH HER. THIS IS HER 1ST HEAT.

If not taken to the vet while giving birth, how do I help her give birth here at home? What do I do for her?
